SummitView ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SummitView platform at summitview.app. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Power BI monitoring and intelligence service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization details. We authenticate users through Microsoft Azure Active Directory (SSO) and do not store passwords.
Power BI Metadata
Our agent software collects metadata from your Power BI environment, including:
- Workspace names and configurations
- Semantic model (dataset) names, refresh schedules, and refresh history
- Report names and usage activity events
- Gateway names, types, and connection status
- Capacity utilization metrics (CPU, memory, throttling)
- Row counts and schema information for data quality monitoring
Important: SummitView only collects metadata. We never access, transmit, or store your actual report data, business data, or the contents of your datasets.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the SummitView dashboard, including pages visited, features used, and alert configurations.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details. We retain only the Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the SummitView monitoring service
- Send alerts and notifications you have configured
- Analyze refresh performance and detect anomalies
- Track usage analytics with unlimited history retention
- Improve our platform and develop new features
- Send service-related communications (account updates, billing)
AI Analysis (BYOK)
SummitView offers AI-powered analysis features using a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. When you use AI features:
- Your API key is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM
- Analysis requests are sent directly from our servers to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) using your key
- We do not store AI conversation history beyond the current session
- We do not use your data to train AI models
Data Storage and Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security
- The SummitView agent communicates with our cloud via HTTPS only
- OAuth tokens used by the agent are refreshed automatically and cached locally
- No Power BI credentials are transmitted to or stored by SummitView
Data Retention
- Power BI metadata (refreshes, usage events, inventory) is retained for the duration of your subscription with no time limit
- Account data is retained until you delete your account or your subscription ends
- After account deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional emails), Vercel (hosting)
- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Your Rights
You may:
- Access and export your data at any time through the dashboard
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Update your account information through the Settings page
- Opt out of non-essential emails

Cookies
SummitView uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Children's Privacy
SummitView is not intended for use by individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our website or sending an email. Continued use of SummitView after changes constitutes acceptance.
